“Where should I visit when I'm in WV?”

I get asked this question frequently, so here are my top 10 things to "Must See".
(Not in any order of preference)

1. Seneca Rocks (Pendleton Co – be sure to allow a few hours to hike up from the Discovery Center)
2. Spruce Knob (Pendleton Co – Highest point in WV – all paved but last 2 miles, and that is smooth, hard-packed gravel)
3. Dolly Sods Wilderness (Grant, Tucker, & Randolph Co. – Gravel Backroads, lots of hiking and camping opportunities)
4. New River Gorge Bridge (Fayetteville – take the old road underneath to see the side most tourists miss)
5. WV Culture & History Museum (Charleston – spend a day in the basement museum and learn lots of interesting WV history)
6. Harper's Ferry area -  lots of Civil War history (also see Berkeley Springs, Charles Town, Antietam MD, and more)
7. Logan/Mingo Co (coal history – Matewan, Logan, Hatfields & McCoys and ride the Hatfield & McCoy Trail System)
8. Green Bank/Cass Railroad (tour the GB Radio Telescope facility and ride Cass Railroad to the top of the mountain)
9. Blackwater Falls (Tucker Co – great camping, nice hikes to the falls, great local food, good base camp for riding the area)
10. Cranberry Wilderness (Pocahontas Co. – take the Rt. 150 loop NW of Marlinton, very relaxed, very scenic)

I have divided the state into 6 main regions in order to keep information organized and easy to find. They are:

1. Northern Panhandle         2. Ohio Valley          3. North/Central
4. South            5. Allegheny Mountains        6. Eastern Panhandle
